Brevard County School Board Candidate Dean Paterakis Vows To Reform Brevard Public Schools

Dean Paterakis, who gained national attention following his ejection from a Brevard County School Board meeting based on a free speech issue, promises to fight against Common Core, root out pedophile BPS employees like Ricky Sheppard, end the waste of taxpayer money on worthless multi-million-dollar contracts, and eliminate the culture of corruption that has long existed within Brevard Public School's administration.

"We should be putting our children's education and safety first, but unfortunately our school board is not doing that, Paterakis wrote on his website

"Unfortunately each election cycle we continue to be fooled by this well oiled machine into electing the well funded candidates who trick us into believing they are there for our children and our interests, when in fact, they are not."

"Dean Paterakis is a man of integrity whose independent thinking can be counted on to look at all sides of the various problems facing our schools," said Brevard County Clerk of Court, Scott Ellis. "Dean combines a passion for education with a skeptic's eye on school finances."

Editor's note: An earlier version of this article headlined that Ellis had endorsed Paterakis. Ellis told Brevard Times that he is not making any endorsements for any candidates this election cycle, but stands by his quote about Paterakis.
