Anderson: Commission Will Only Discuss Gas Tax Hike Tonight
PALM BAY, Florida -- Brevard County Commissioner Andy Anderson posted on Facebook a statement claiming that erroneous emails and other media are circulating that state the vote for the 6 cent gas tax hike is tonight:
"Recently, erroneous emails and other media has been distributed that
indicated that the Board of County Commissioners was voting tonight to
raise taxes and fees to fund road maintenance. This is absolutely false.
Tonight - the Commission will be presented a report from a citizens
advisory board. The Board of County Commissioners will take NO action at
this meeting to approve or deny any recommendation. We will only
discuss the work product and
recommendations. Any further action would require a lengthy legislative
process and must be legally advertised for full public hearings.
Regardless, I am not in favor of raising any additional taxes or fees.
As I always advise: beware of half-truth and innuendo that is disseminated for political purposes
