BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – District 5 County Commissioner Andy Anderson has
been selected to participate in the 32nd Leadership Florida class
(2013-14).
Leadership Florida is a highly respected and trusted leadership organization celebrating 31 years of educating, engaging and inspiring Florida’s leaders. Anderson was chosen, along with 54 other leaders from throughout Florida, to participate in the eight-month educational program.
The educational program consists of a series of five two- and three-day sessions held in cities throughout the state, the culmination of which is the equivalent of a sixth session where participants join fellow Leadership Florida members at the Annual Meeting. These sessions include programming on issues critical to Florida, leadership skills assessment and training, and relevant information on Florida's history, demography, diversities, challenges, and opportunities.
“I am extremely excited to be selected for the Leadership Florida class,” Anderson said. “I expect to enhance my skills as a leader not only through the informative sessions but also during the valuable time spent interacting with other leaders representing a variety of diverse professions.”
Applicants for Leadership Florida needed to be senior-level leaders with significant career and community achievements who expressed a sincere concern about the future of Florida and have made a personal commitment to help shape it.
