Meeting To Discuss Gun Control In Brevard County

MELBOURNE, Florida -- A "Gun Control and Public Safety Expert Panel Presentation" will take place on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in the Front Street Civic Center located at 2205 South Front Street in Melbourne, Florida.  The presentation is free and open to the public.

"There are no simple answers when it comes to gun control and there is no single solution that will satisfy us all," said Vicki Impoco of the Space Coast Progressive Alliance.  "Too much of the debate has been focused on assumptions by the other. We believe it would be worthwhile to have a community discussion where all points of view would be shared. We all want the same thing, to be safe."

Panel members will include representatives/members from The Space Coast Friends of the NRA, Brevard's Sheriff's Office, State Attorney Office, The Florida Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, The Florida ACLU, a mental health counselor and more.  Federal, State, and local representatives have also been invited to  attend or send to a staff member.
