Weldon, Mack Applaud Romney Pick of Ryan
MIAMI, Florida – Florida U.S. Senate candidates Connie Mack and Dave Weldon both applauded Mitt Romney's pick of Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential running mate.
“As
he did with the Olympics, and so many time in the private sector
turning despair into success, Mitt Romney has again used his talents to
make the right, critical choice at a critical hour for our nation," said Mack in a statement. "Paul
Ryan understands the priorities needed to put our nation back on the
road to more freedom, less government and renewed prosperity. I have
known and worked with Paul Ryan since being elected to the Congress and
was outraged time and again when his ideas to move our nation forward
were killed by a liberal Senate. Now our party can give him the right
platform and a Senate that will no longer be flawed and unworkable.
With great pride, we all unite today behind the Romney-Ryan ticket."
Weldon also took a moment from his Florida U.S. Senate campaign schedule to stop and praise Mitt Romney’s VP pick,
Paul Ryan. Dr. Weldon has worked directly with Paul Ryan during his
tenure representing Florida voters in Washington D.C. as Congressman for
District 15.
“Paul Ryan is an
excellent choice for VP, and I commend Mitt Romney. I got to know Paul
while in the U.S. House. He is a solid, conservative family man with a
wonderful, supportive family. What I liked about him most was that he
was a straight shooter. When you talked to him, I always felt he was
listening and being honest, which is often a rarity in Washington," Weldon said. “Obama offers no real solutions for our
nation’s economic problems. Everything he has tried has made matters
worse. No doubt Obama will try to demonize Paul Ryan and his common
sense proposals. We need to stand with Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. The
future of our nation is at stake.”
