'Audit The Fed' To Be Part of 2012 GOP Platform
TAMPA, Florida -- U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), son of Republican Presidential Primary candidate Ron Paul, announced today on his Facebook page that:
"My father's longtime goal of auditing the Federal Reserve will be part
of the Republican Platform in Tampa. This is great news and is long
overdue. Playwright Victor Hugo once wrote, “You can resist an invading
army; you cannot resist an idea whose time has come.” The time for Fed
transparency has come."'
Rand Paul's announcement comes on the heels of a statement made by former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney to the Washington Times that the Federal Reserve should be accountable.
The statements made by Rand Paul and Mitt Romney precede a report made by CNN that the Ron Paul delegates will strike a deal with the Republican National Committee where more Ron Paul delegates will be allowed into the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida in exchange for good behavior by the Paul delegates while on the convention floor.
Rand Paul's announcement was not received well by the majority of Paul supporters whose Facebook comments ranged from "an audit is just a distraction" to "I will never vote for Mitt Romney."
