Daily Bread Employee Arrested For Food Stamp Theft
MELBOURNE, Florida -- The Melbourne Police Department
has made an arrest in reference to a complaint of a stolen EBT card (also referred to as food stamps).
On April 12, 2012, the victim contacted
the Melbourne Police Department to report he had applied for an EBT card and it
was to be mailed to the Daily Bread at 815 E. Fee Avenue. The victim stated to
police that he never received his EBT card, so he called the state customer
service line to inquire why. He was then informed by the state that his card
was mailed to the victim’s mailing address, which he listed as 815 E. Fee Ave (Daily
Bread). Additional information uncovered
a purchase on the card, for $200, which had been made at a Publix supermarket on
March 23, 2012.
Melbourne Officers investigated
the purchase on the victim’s EBT card. As a result of the investigation, Norma
Waters, a Daily Bread employee, was arrested at 9:10AM on July 10, 2012 for
theft and fraudulent use of the card. Waters was booked at the Melbourne Police
Department and turned over to the Brevard County Jail.
