This week, the "Wayne Ivey for Sheriff Campaign Team" announced that Brevard County's Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 2969, endorsed former Resident Agent in Charge Wayne Ivey from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in his candidacy for Brevard County Sheriff.

President Michael Zocchi said of Ivey, “You are a man that takes on crime in our community with determination and dedication.  You are progressive and look to the future with your proposed policies and practices.  You hold the respect of your peers and the public.  With a man of your integrity and understanding, the citizens will have someone in office they can trust to protect them while they sleep.  You truly understand that government exists to protect the public, and to serve it!"

"I am truly honored to receive the endorsement from Brevard County's Professional Firefighters Local 2969, who proudly represent the brave men and women of Brevard County's Fire Rescue," said Ivey.  "BCFR is one of the largest Fire Rescue Services in the state with 535 firefighters and support staff and an additional 250 volunteers.  BCFR has a long history of partnering with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office in both community service and prevention efforts.  If elected as your Sheriff, I will continue this rich history of Public Safety collaboration to ensure our citizens are well protected and safe."
