Dana Blickley Wins Brevard Times Property Appraiser Poll
VIERA, Florida -- Republican candidate
for Brevard County Property Appraiser, Dana Blickley, won the Brevard Times viewer
poll against Jim Ford, also a Republican candidate for Property Appraiser, 66%
to 21%,
respectively. Another Republican candidate, Jason Steele, came in a
distant third with 10% of the vote.
The poll also revealed that the Property Appraiser race is a race of personalities, not partisanship. Although
viewers were able to make more than one selection, less than 1% of
viewers said that they would vote for 'Any Republican' or 'Any
Democrat.'
Of the three viewer polls conducted by
Brevard Times so far, the results are in line with in-person straw polls conducted at political events in recent months.
Like a straw poll, the viewer poll is
unscientific and cannot be given any weight as to how voters will
actually vote come election day. However, it can indicate the level of
energy and enthusiasm political activists have for a particular
candidate.
Energy and enthusiasm is especially important at this point in the countywide races such as Clerk of Court, Sheriff, and Property Appraiser because the viewer poll can indicate the number of campaign volunteers holding signs at voting precincts and traffic intersections on Election Day.
A new Brevard Times' viewer poll, for Brevard County Commission Districts 1 and 3 begins today (Andy Anderson is unopposed in District 5).
