U.S. Senator: Obama Stupid?

U.S. Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA), a member of Senate Judiciary Committee, sent a twitter message over the Easter weekend which many have interpreted as calling President Barack Obama stupid.

The tweet refers to Obama as PresO and uses academic shorthand for constitutional law to stay within the twitter character limit. Grassley tweets:

 

"Constituents askd why i am not outraged at PresO attack on supreme court independence. Bcause Am ppl r not stupid as this x prof of con law"

There has been no love loss between Obama and Grassley the last two years.  Grassley led the charge against the Obama administration of Operation Gunwalker where the Obama administration purposely put automatic assault rifles in the hands of Mexican drug cartels to increase border violence so that the administration could later call for more gun control.  (See Brevard Times Operation Gunwalker article on May 2, 2011).

Grassley has been fighting with the Obama adminstration and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder over the release of documents related to Operation Gunwalker which many believe is a conspiracy that leads straight to the White House. 

White House adviser David Axelrod came down to the maturity level of the first tweet by implying that the Senator is a 6-year-old.  Axelor tweeted: "Heads up, Sen. Grassley.  I think a 6-year-old hijacked your account and is sending out foolish Tweets just to embarrass you!"
