John Bond Officially Wins Cape Canaveral City Council Seat
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- John Bond was officially elected to the Cape Canaveral City Council according to the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections' twitter message.
The Special Election for Cape Canaveral City council was such a close race of 798 for Bond and 792 for Adam Shaffer, that an automatic recount was triggered according to Florida election laws.
The recount included review of all of the provision ballots this morning by the Canvassing Board at the Supervisor of Elections office in Viera which conducted the Official Logic and Accuracy Test for the Cape Canaveral Recount and Review Provisional Ballots cast during the January 31st Presidential Preference Primary and Cape Canaveral Special Election.
A machine recount commenced immediately following the conclusion of the Logic and Accuracy Test and Review of Provisional Ballots.
The final results of the recount were Bond 800 (50.25%) and Shaffer 792 (49.75%).
