Ron Paul Wins 2012 Illinois Straw Poll By A Landslide

2012 Republican Presidential Primary candidate Ron Paul won the 2012 Illinois Straw Poll by a landslide last Saturday, winning more votes than all of the other Republican candidates combined.

In a statement to the Ron Paul 2012 official campaign website: “This straw poll victory demonstrates the groundswell of support for Ron Paul and his winning message, as well as the organizational muscle presidential candidates require,” said Scott Davis, Illinois State Chair for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign.  “Straw poll participants were Illinois residents who support the Illinois Republican Party and Ron Paul for the presidency, so this contest is relevant and representative.”

Unlike other straw polls which often require well over $100 per person to participate, the Illinois Straw Poll only required a nominal sum of $5 per person to participate to cover the cost of conducting the poll.  The poll also allowed Illinois voters to vote via the internet rather than having to go through the expense of traveling to the event.

Despite continuously winning straw poll after straw poll, the mainstream media continues to ignore Ron Paul.

Here are the results for the 2012 Illinois Straw Poll:
Ron Paul 52%
Herman Cain 18%
Mitt Romney 14%
Newt Gingrich 9%
Rick Perry 2.5%
Jon Huntsman 1.5%
Rick Santorum 1.2%
Michelle Bachmann 1.1%
