New York Judge Denies OWS Injunction

A New York judge denied  the Occupy Wall Street's petition for an injunction against the City of New York and the NYPD to permit the protestors to return to Zuccotti Park with their tents today.

At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday November 15, 2011, the NYPD descended on Occupy Wall Street protestors who have been camped out at Zuccotti Park (formerly Liberty Square) for nearly two months.

According to the Occupy Wall Street website, police approached the park wearing riot gear and brought in bulldozers to force protestors out of the park.  The protestors began to regroup at nearby Foley Park within two hours.

The response given by Occupy Wall Street to the raid and eviction, "You can't evict an idea whose time has come."

The raid comes just two days before the protestors had planned to shut down Wall Street at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday November 17, 2011 by occupying the subways in the area.
