'In God We Trust' Passes House

The U.S. House of Representatives passed 396 to 9 a resolution retaining the phrase 'In God We Trust" as the nation's motto yesterday.

The resolution was more symbolic than substantial in nature, and had no legal effect regardless of whether it passed or not.
