Space and the U.S. Space Program was not a topic during last night's Florida Senate debate.  Nelson made one statement regarding Mack voting against a NASA bill.  However, Nelson's statement was made when the question and allotted debate time was for the topic of continuing the Embargo against Cuba.  Mack responded to the Embargo question without being pulled off-topic by Nelson on space.  Both candidates supported continuing the Embargo.

Nelson also referred to his Space Shuttle flight in his closing statement.

The most recent Real Clear Politics average of polls has Nelson with a comfortable lead over Mack at 47.5% to 40.8%.

The Florida Senate Debate's primary media coverage was carried by NBC South Florida affiliate WPTV.com.

  1. Of course Bill Nelson would be LOST in trying to "save" the space program! Just the other day the NASA director appointed by Obama was lamenting how Obama was "great for the space program". Of course this sycophant is TOTALLY in the bag with the President that DESTROYED NASA and made it a "muslim outreach program"!! Does ANYONE think that Bill Nelson who worships Obama would have a micro thought on saving anything with our space program? I am NOT saying Connie Mack is better but I am saying it's time to put Bill out to pasture and let someone else have a chance!!! Look around folks and SEE all the houses for sale because our Brevard citizens have lost everything......
